Welcome to The Butterfly Tree

The Butterfly Tree's aim is to assist rural communities decimated by the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Zambia, providing improved education, feeding programs, safe water, health care and an orphan sponsorship program.

The Butterfly Tree is both a registered UK charity and Non Government Organisation in Zambia. Our success is due to two factors: 100% of funds raised go directly to the cause - all our members are volunteers.

Join The Butterfly Tree to help prevent losing the next generation.

We partner with Exquisite Safaris

In April 2007 I was invited to speak at The Global Luxury Forum in London, where I introduced the concept of Luxury Philanthropic Travel pioneered by our partners Exquisite Safaris.

Exquisite Safaris encourage travellers to take ‘time out’ of their holiday to visit an area where charities like The Butterfly Tree, are offering support to a community and give the traveller a chance to either get involved with a project or give a donation.

Exquisite Safaris has offered us 10% of their profit when their clients book a trip and visit our projects at the Mukuni Village.

After staying at Sun International’s Royal Livingstone Hotel situated on the edge of the mighty Zambezi River overlooking the breathtaking Victoria Falls, I was delighted to learn that Sun International encourage philanthropic travellers.

I feel privileged to be able to work alongside this company, who have offered tremendous support to our charity and are invaluable with the advice they give us.   Read the rest of this entry »
