All over\u00a0the world\u00a0governments and organizations are helping the fight against <strong>malaria<\/strong>. Half the world&#8217;s population (3.2 billion) are at risk of contracting <strong>malaria<\/strong>,most especially in poor countries such as Zambia.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_10691\" style=\"width: 485px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thebutterflytree.org.uk\/pages\/wp-content\/images\/CIMG8970.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10691\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-10691 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thebutterflytree.org.uk\/pages\/wp-content\/images\/CIMG8970-475x356.jpg\" alt=\"CIMG8970\" width=\"475\" height=\"356\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-10691\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Malaria Protection is vital for young children<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Malaria is the biggest killer of man. 198 million cases and a staggering 584,000 deaths were recorded in 2013.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thebutterflytree.org.uk\/pages\/wp-content\/images\/ith_malaria_map_2011.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10678\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thebutterflytree.org.uk\/pages\/wp-content\/images\/ith_malaria_map_2011.gif\" alt=\"ith_malaria_map_2011\" width=\"396\" height=\"256\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Butterfly Tree is about to launch\u00a0our\u00a0most ambitious project to date. A new innovative <strong>malaria prevention<\/strong> method will shortly be available in Zambia and beyond, which will initiated by our organisation.<\/p>\n<p>Working alongside Vectorcide, the UK corporate who has funded the development of the products, and the <a title=\"LSHTM\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lshtm.ac.uk\/\">London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine<\/a>, Vectorcide products\u00a0are reputed to be superior products for malaria prevention. These products have now been approved in Zambia by the Ministry of Health, the Zambian Malaria Control Centre and the Environmental Management Agency.<\/p>\n<p>We have been granted the Licence to import the products into Zambia. Our aim is to distribute these interventions\u00a0into remote communities and also make them available to the tourism, agriculture, mining and other industries to prevent absenteeism from work as well as saving lives. One of our major donors, <a title=\"SCT\" href=\"http:\/\/www.saga.co.uk\/saga-charitable-trust\/\">Saga Charitable Trust<\/a>, is supporting this project.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mosquito nets<\/strong> will continue to\u00a0be used as an\u00a0<span style=\"color: #545454;\">effective method\u00a0for <strong>malaria prevention<\/strong>.
