At the time\u00a0despite being very intelligent, Peter had lost interest in his education after loosing both parents and having no funds to continue.\u00a0A sponsor was sought and this transformed\u00a0his life; as there\u00a0was no high school at Mukuni Peter\u00a0wanted to go to boarding school and subsequently attended Zimba High. You are my father and my mother who would have done the same if they were alive. It takes a strong sole to take up the work of someone else.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I must let you know that I have made it through my senior secondary with 16 points which gives me the opportunity to\u00a0apply for\u00a0university. Our healthcare projects including\u00a0<a title=\"HIV\/AIDS prevention\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thebutterflytree.org.uk\/pages\/our-work\/health\/hiv-aids-prevention\/\">HIV\/AIDS<\/a> and <a title=\"malaria prevention\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thebutterflytree.org.uk\/pages\/our-work\/health\/malaria\/\">malaria prevention<\/a>, boosted by a recent donation from <a title=\"Viking River Cruises\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vikingrivercruises.co.uk\/\">Viking River\u00a0Cruises<\/a>, are all for the benefit of these vulnerable children. One of the great things about working in these rural\u00a0communities is that when we can\u00a0assist\u00a0with the orphans&#8217; education, there is always someone who will offer to be a guardian, whether it be a family member, a friend or even a teacher. This is\u00a0by far more\u00a0preferable\u00a0than having to leave their\u00a0village and be placed in an orphange in town.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 485px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Mukuni Feeding Program\" alt=\"Mukuni Feeding Program\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thebutterflytree.org.uk\/pages\/wp-content\/images\/Mukuni-Feeding-Program-475x356.jpg\" width=\"475\" height=\"356\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sponsored daily feeding program at Mukuni Village Schools<\/p><\/div>\n<p>There are over 700,000 orphans in <a title=\"Zambia\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thebutterflytree.org.uk\/pages\/about\/where-we-work\/\">Zambia<\/a> alone and they desperately need your support. Education is the only way they can get out of the cycle of poverty to enable them to better their situation. For as little as \u00a3110 per annum or just \u00a310 per month a child&#8217;s life can be transformed. The money is used to pay for school and exam fees, books, shoes, uniform and school bag.
