The Butterfly Tree has been working in outreach communities of Zambia for over eleven years. We have over thirty on going projects relating to water, food, health, malaria prevention, education, orphan support and community projects; operating in over twenty five schools, seven clinics and four Chiefdom in the Kazungula and Livingstone Districts. We are working at a national level with our malaria prevention programme.
2017 has started off incredibly well. A new school is currently is being constructed and a further four are being advanced. Mukuni clinic is under restoration and further support is being offered for malaria prevention.
2016 has been an amazing year with a considerable number of projects being construction – 4 new bore holes, latrines, 8 classrooms, a teacher’s house, a boarding shelter and a clinic. In addition we continue to have substantial success with our malaria prevention project.
2015 saw the launch of a new nationwide malaria prevention initiative.
We work with some wonderful volunteers and fundraisers, corporate and individuals, all making their unique contributions to the charity. From £5 donations for a mosquito net, fundraising with schools or through challenges such as marathons and climbing mountains, visiting the projects in Mukuni, to volunteering to build classrooms or teaching in class. Corporate Sponsors supporting malaria prevention and feeding programmes and much, much more. We very much appreciate all the support we have received, but as always more help is needed – more on donating.
