The most important aspect in developing a school or community is to ensure that safe, clean drinking water is readily available. Without this no real progress can be made. The Butterfly Tree has funded 44 boreholes for the following schools and communities:
39 schools: Mukuni, Ngandu, Kamwi, Libala, Katapazi, Siamasimbi, Malima, Sibbulo, Chuunga, Muchambila, Kauwe, Nampuyani, Nguba, River View, Kazungula Boarding, Bunsanga, Sinsimuku, Mayala, Muyunda, Zalu, Mayoba, Nakawa, Chilaba, Malimba, Chilebe, Mubuyu, Manga, Simukombo, James Siachetima, Mabwe, Malombe, Katubya, Bbombe Lyangoma, Kamusiku, Monono, Masumu Muyunmu, Siamuya, Katondo and Kanono.
20 communities: Chise, Kafekwa, Mukuni Village sections (5), Mukalahani, Chuunga, Senkobo (3), Siamukoma, Siazibola, Muyunda, Musokotwane, Chikwama, Hamoomba, Siambelele and Sekute.
